SJSU Latino Alumni Network Scholarship

The San Jose State University Latino Alumni Network was founded in 2013 to create a community for SJSU Latino alumni and students, to promote professional and personal growth and to increase the success of the Latino community through programs and activities. We provide a space for the SJSU Latino community to gather, participate in continued education and professional development activities and support one another. LAN strives to keep its community members engaged through cultural, educational, social, and professional development activities.

The SJSU Latino Alumni Network is very dedicated to providing partial-tuition scholarships to SJSU undergraduate students who have demonstrated a strong commitment to the Latino/Hispanic community, who have demonstrated leadership qualities and who have notable academic and professional aspirations. Awards are based on merit and financial need; amounts: two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to scholars selected.

Selection Criteria:
To be eligible to apply for the SJSU Latino Alumni Network Scholarship, you must meet the listed criteria below:

  • Demonstrate a strong dedication to Latino/Hispanic community
  • Full-time current or entering SJSU undergraduate student (all majors)
  • Earn a minimum of a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) for incoming freshmen
  • Earn a minimum of 2.8 GPA on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent) for current students
  • Eligible for need-based aid

Scholarship recipients are required to attend the SJSU Scholarship Awards Reception and the SJSU Latino Alumni Network’s Annual Legacy Brunch. Recipients are expected to participate in a minimum of two LAN event(s) during the year.
