Bradford F. Baron

Robert and Ellen Baron were esteemed members of the San José State University community. Their life long involvement with SJSU is honored through this scholarship.

Bob Baron earned his bachelor’s degree in Education (1951) at San Jose State College, as well as his Master of Arts (1957) and teaching credential. As a student, he ran track and was the first elected president of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity chapter on campus. In 1956 Bob began working on campus and was appointed assistant to the Dean of Students in 1958. In 1960 he was named the Housing Director to oversee four new residence halls. Bob left the university in 1969 but he and Ellen remained active with the Spartan Foundation. Ellen also helped to raise scholarships through the Walk for Women of Sparta. In 1989, Bob and Ellen were honored with the university’s highest honor, the Tower Award.

Brad and his brother, Bill, are also graduates of San José State, Business Administration 1981 and Business Management 1985, respectively.
