Brian D. Bates Scholarship

The Brian D. Bates Memorial Endowed Scholarship will be a permanent endowment to provide scholarships to San José State students enrolled full-time and in good standing. Preference will be given to students who demonstrate civic engagement in areas of social justice and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB). Examples may include but are not limited to involvement with multicultural organizations working to increase capacity and inclusion for vulnerable populations, civil rights organizations working to improve access or expand basic human rights, and organizations focused on providing direct service to the poor and disenfranchised.
