From Salinas, CA, Joseph was a community builder, entertainer, and inspiring mentor to many. After graduating with his associate’s degree from Hartnell College, Joseph then
transferred to SJSU to pursue his Bachelor of Arts degree in Graphic Design with a Minor in Advertising. As a full-time student, Joseph balanced working several jobs while
also serving as a student leader for Akbayan SJSU, the Filipino American student organization on campus. As Akbayan’s Kuya Ate Ading Mentorship Program (KAAMP)
Coordinator, Joseph had spearheaded the university’s largest student-led mentorship program to-date of more than 1,000 SJSU Spartans.

His dedication to pursue his dreams continued after college; he worked within the entertainment industry, publishing content across platforms. Joseph later moved to Southern California where he signed with a modeling agency and participated in the first-ever “Misters of Filipinas America”. Joseph’s hard work was recognized when he was awarded “Best in Production”.

Joseph’s unwavering passion and infectious zeal represent the best parts of what our Filipino Alumni Network stands for. Just as Joseph uplifted others, may this scholarship
uplift the next generation of Spartans in achieving their dreams.
