Miami Family Law Breaking The Cycle Scholarship

At Miami Family Law Group, we are passionate about issues that affect families. We strongly believe that by providing financial assistance through this scholarship, we will positively impact and assist a student looking to pursue a college education.

Our Miami Family Law Breaking The Cycle Scholarship provides a $1,000 award each semester to a student who has grown up in a volatile family environment and is looking to further their education in hopes of “breaking the cycle” of strife that they experienced in their childhood and perhaps continue to experience.

Eligibility Requirements
Our team at Miami Family Law awards scholarships to students who grew up in familial environments featuring difficult circumstances. This may include but is not limited to growing up in a household where a parent suffered from addiction, where abuse occurred, growing up in a low-income single-parent household, or something else. Through your pursuit of a college degree, you are looking to “break the cycle” of strife and create a better life and future for yourself and your family. Other requirements to be a candidate for our Fall 2024 Miami Family Law Breaking The Cycle Scholarship include:

You have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
You are or will be enrolled in an accredited U.S. college or university for the Fall 2024 semester as an undergraduate or graduate student.
You are a citizen or permanent resident.
You are at least 17 years of age.
Applying For Our Scholarship
Applicants who would like to apply for our scholarship must submit proof of enrollment (letter of acceptance, class schedule, etc), an academic transcript that shows proof of grade-point average, a personal statement explaining how you are a good fit for this scholarship, and an essay. We kindly ask all applicants to submit an essay, in approximately 500 words, that addresses the following prompt:

How do you plan to end the cycle of adversity you have experienced and create a better future for yourself through your pursuit of higher education? What have you learned that you will take with you in furthering your education?

Recipient Selection Criteria
Applicants who satisfy all specified requirements will be evaluated by our scholarship team. To select the winner, our team will judge each application by this criterion:

Does the student meet all eligibility criteria?
Did the student submit the necessary documents?
Did the student answer the prompt in its entirety?
Does the student’s essay exhibit organized and clear ideas?
Does the content of the student’s essay reflect the student’s personality in an authentic manner?
We hope to have our winner selected and notified no later than July 19, 2024.
