Lucidchart is a collaborative diagramming tool that helps users visualize complex processes. So, instead of a traditional text response, use our flowchart maker to put together a creative representation of your answer to one of the three prompts below, adapted from this year’s Common App essay questions. Feel free to use any Lucidchart template to get started.

Creativity required! There are no limits as to how you use our charting software, so make your submission stand out.

Open to current and incoming freshmen, sophomores, juniors, seniors, and graduate students.

How it works

1. Sign up for Lucidchart with your current student email address.
2. Create your diagram and address one of the three available prompts.
3. To submit, hit “Share” and grant view-only access to scholarships@lucidchart.com
4. Fill out the custom message with your name, the number of the prompt you chose, and a description (in 100 words or less) about your submission.
5. Share your creation on your social networks and tag Lucidchart.
6. Winner will be announced July 17, 2017.
