Eligibility

Applicants must:

Be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident of the U.S.

Be in the process of enrolling (full-time) in an undergraduate program at an accredited 2 or 4-year college or university commencing the Fall semester after receiving the award

Be a high school senior that lives in one of the following counties: Monterey, Kings, Tulane, and Inyo counties and all California counties north of them, as well as all counties in Nevada

Possess a sincere interest in Japan, as demonstrated by at least one (1) year of directed study or related activity
